This is a treasure hunt game in Crete, especially in Heraklion city. The tourists’ team has to be divided into two separate groups in order to find the treasure….But this isn’t a usual treasure hunt.. it is a puzzle.. Each team has to do different activities that are explained by the sufficient orders so as to pick up all the pieces of the puzzle and finally win!!
Furthermore, because of the similarity of the puzzles, there are five same pieces which are called ‘gold’. If the groups want to pick up the ‘gold’ one, they have to both contest and compete between them at the same competitions. The group which completes the puzzle first (and picks up more gold pieces than the other) will be the winner!
As a prize, the winner group has a day off to go shopping with participants of the Greek team (who will be chosen by them) and a bottle of Cretan wine.
For those who lose, they will have ‘a half day off’ to go shopping with participants of the Greek team (the rest of them).
Both teams will get the puzzle as a souvenir. The island of Crete is illustrated on the puzzle.
A bus is going to pick up the participants, that are already divided into two separate teams, from their hotel and it will take them to Astoria square. There, the leader of the Greek team will give each team a riddle to start. Each team has to solve the riddle to find the next one. There are not only riddles… there are also historical facts that they have to find out. The groups have different riddles to find. However, there are three or five challenges which the two groups have to face to win the gold piece of puzzle (which I have already referred to).
These challenges can be:
*food challenge- one member of each group can take part in this challenge.
Each participant has to tie his face with a cloth. After that, they have to taste different plates and guess as many ingredients as they can. The participant who guesses more ingredients than the other, his or her team wins the gold piece of puzzle.
*speed challenge – again one or two members of each team can participate in that.
On this situation they have to transfer an egg on a spoon from Lion square to Agios Titos church and back. The winner team is the one which succeeds to take more than an egg on the time limit that they have.
(We also can make up more than these two activities to play)
However, there will be two information centers for the two groups
The one is going to be at the Astoria square and the other at Agios Minas church.
These two centers can offer information about the location the riddles even historical information that can help the groups. Each team can use the information stores three times.
Duration: 3 hours
Cost Price: Bus transfer to- and from your hotel, 10€ p.p.
