We really want to show you the many beautiful spots of our home city, Cagliari. One of the best attractions is the Natural Park of Molentargius. The park is one of the most important wetlands in Europe, classified as site of community importance and has special protection area by European Commission. Through its streets you can meet several species of aquatic birds like our pink flamingos, and if you are lucky, take a photo with them!
We will pick you up from Piazza Yenne at 9.00 AM, you will see a big “ISLANDERS” sign near obelisc statue, you can’t miss us! Thereafter, we will go to a nearby bike renting shop where we will find our bicycles waiting for us! From there we will take a bycicle lane that coasts our beautiful sea, straight to the Molentargius Park.
Once arrived, first, we will go through the history of this place, like telling you the origin of the name ‘saltworks’ but we don’t want to spoil the surprise for now… We will cycle our way around this beautiful park, telling you more about its inhabitants and its infrastructures. The ride includes numerous stops, where you can admire the fauna of the park.
After visiting the park we will then go you to a special place for locals: “Caddozzoni”, where you can choose from many different “panini”, with a wide variety of tasty ingredients, to try out our local products, like our cheese, meat and vegetables.
With a full belly we will go to take a relaxing walk through the shore, and after drinking a coffee, we will come back to the center to return the bikes at 16 o’clock.
